George Thorogood and the Destroyers is one of the classic rock acts of all time, and they proved it again on March 25th at the Pearl. They played all the classic numbers like "I Drink Alone", "Who Do You Love" and "Bad To the Bone", all of which were well-received by the audience. I was sitting third row, stage center and had an outstanding view of the festivities, and I enjoyed myself immensely. The venue is a little crowded, and I've noted that before with Jeff Beck and the Black Crowes, but I had a great time.
Another thing to note: their opening act, Hamish Anderson, was excellent. He reminded me vaguely of a cross between Marc Bolan of T. Rex and Jim Morrison of the Doors, at least in appearance. He and his band did a great job warming up the crowd for the main attraction. They were a trio, and they all wore Thorogood/Destroyers shirts as a form of not-so-subtle advertising.
